A Broken Heart Is an Open Heart

The world has tried to name me many things — widow, single mother, wild woman, hermit.
But none of those titles tell the full story.

War reshaped my life.
Loss stripped me down.
Toxic love taught me where I had abandoned myself.

And instead of closing,
I chose to go inward.
To learn myself more honestly.
To return to the parts of me that never left.

What has defined me most is not what I’ve lost —
but how many times I’ve found myself again.

Life has taken pieces.
It has asked me to rebuild.
It has stretched me into versions of myself I never planned to become.

And here’s what I know —

After every storm, something remains.

Something resilient.
Something hopeful.
Something curious.
Something evergreen.

Sometimes we just need to be reminded where to look.
Where to tend.
Where to nourish what still lives.

And what is becoming, really,
but choosing to fully live in the body we’ve been gifted —
to feel it, to inhabit it, to let it break and rebuild and love again?
